Congress Leader Mallikarjun Kharge has taken on the role of the chief of the INDIA bloc. This decision was reached during a virtual meeting of the INDIA alliance, which consists of 28 opposition parties.

During the meeting, sources revealed that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar rejected the appointment of the convenor of the INDIA alliance. The leaders of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (I.N.D.I.A) discussed ways to strengthen the alliance and devised a strategy for sharing seats in the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK leader MK Stalin, along with party leader Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, participated in the meeting of INDIA bloc leaders through video conferencing on Saturday. The ongoing meeting is focused on reviewing seat-sharing arrangements, participation in Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, and addressing other pertinent issues.

Yesterday, senior leaders from the Aam Aadmi Party and the Congress engaged in talks about seat-sharing. The Congress expressed optimism, stating that the two parties share a "very good chemistry."

Leaders of the INDIA bloc parties discussed seat-sharing arrangements in Delhi, Punjab, and other states for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. However, the discussions on Monday remained inconclusive.

The INDIA, or 'Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance,' is a coalition of opposition parties, including the Congress. The primary objective is to unite against the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and thwart its chances of securing a third consecutive term in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

As the 2024 Lok Sabha elections approach, India's political landscape is witnessing a significant reshuffling. The emerging INDIA consortium is gearing up to challenge the established National Democratic Alliance, setting the stage for an intense electoral showdown.
