Kolkata: 'The Kashmir Files,' a film depicting the gruesome massacre of Kashmiri Pandits, has been made tax-free by several states, but according to information received from senior officials, the Mamata Banerjee government in Bengal has refused to make the film tax-free. Meanwhile, on 'The Kashmir Files,' Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has said in gestures that no one should go and watch this film in the theatre. At the same time, Mamata Banerjee has also said that there is a fake story in the films. There is no reality in it. The film is made to earn money.
Let us know that, before the release of this film, lawyer Intezar Hussain Saeed had filed a petition in the Bombay High Court. He said that this film hurts the sentiments of Muslims. He had also said that the release of this film can lead to communal violence. But the point to note here is that today it has been 8 days since the release of the film, but there has been no news of any kind of violence by the majority community of the country from anywhere. In fact, the majority community is seeing such a pitiable condition of its own people in their own country. It is also to be noted that Intezar Hussain's petition, could not stress that the film is false, fictional and should be banned. As Mamata Banerjee is saying. If the film had been proved false in court, it could have definitely been stopped. But, Vivek Agnihotri has interviewed 700 Kashmiri Hindus and listened to their sufferings and prepared a film based on that.
At the same time, Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo and Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee said that no one needs to go to the cinema hall and watch the film. Such films have been deliberately made so that hatred spreads and incites violence. Mamata said that it is a fake story. There is no truth in it. Films are made for money. No one should try to disturb the atmosphere in Bengal in any way by watching this kind of film, otherwise, the outcome will be inadequate. At the same time, the opposition has again accused Mamata Banerjee of appeasement over this statement. Let me tell you that like Kashmir, there was an exodus in Bengal in 2021. Several people were killed and women were raped in the violence that erupted after the assembly election results, after which a large number of people fled to neighbouring states. At present, all the cases of Bengal violence are being investigated by the CBI and the trial is going on in the Calcutta High Court.
