Kolkata: West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will not be able to win even 70 seats in the assembly elections. Addressing a public meeting here, Mamata Banerjee said, "BJP will not be able to win even 70 out of 294 seats in Bengal Legislative Assembly. The Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo slammed PM Narendra Modi's recent claim that the BJP has won 100 seats in the first four phases of the 294-seat assembly elections.
She further said, "PM Modi has said that out of the 135 seats where elections have been held, 100 seats have already been won by the BJP. I can say that after the elections are over, the BJP will not get even 70 out of a total of 294 seats. The TMC supremo alleged that the BJP brought outsiders to campaign in Bengal, which increased the corona virus cases.
CM Mamata accused the BJP-led government at the Centre of not responding to the state government's appeal to the majority of the people of the state to get the vaccine, which could help prevent the spread of corona virus. The Trinamool supremo alleged that the BJP is spreading lies by telling different things at different places on the same issue.
