Mammootty known as Ambani of Tollywood owns a property of 210 crores and 369 cars

One of the most busiest actors of South Industry Mammootty aka Muhammad Kutty Ismail Paniparambil was raised in the village of Chempu near Vaikom in Kottayam district, Kerala. He married Sulfath in 1979. They have two children, Surumi and Dulquer Salmaan. He is a producer and the chairman of Malayalam Communications, which runs the Malayalam television channels Kairali TV, People TV, and WE TV.  His younger brother Ibrahimkutty is also an actor. Ibrahimkutty's son Maqbool Salmaan is also a film actor.


Mammooty has worked in several Malayalam and non-Malayalam films which include Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada and English films. In 1990, he made his Tamil debut in Mounam Sammadham, directed by K. Madhu.
 He has acted in Tamil films for directors including K. Balachander (Azhagan), Mani Ratnam (Thalapathy), Fazil (Kilippechu Kekkavaa), N. Linguswamy (Aanandham) and Rajiv Menon (Kandukondain Kandukondain) . He played the role of Anantha Sharma in K. Vishwanath's Telugu film Swathi Kiranam.

He has featured in almost 400 films. Mammootty was a lawyer by profession. He has won 3 National Film Awards for Best Actor, 7 Kerala State Film Awards, and 13 Filmfare Awards South. In 1998, he was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India for his contributions to the arts. 

Mammootty holds the record for doing the most number of films in a year, having acted in 120 films between 1983 and 1986. In 1986, 34 films of Mammootty were released which is a record in itself. The actor is also known as the Ambani of Tollywood as he has a property of 210 crores and a collection of 369 cars.
