Several celebrities from the South Indian film and music industry recently joined the collective prayer for the well-being of renowned singer, SP Balasubramanian. Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth, Chiranjeevi, AR Rahman and many others prayed for the speedy recovery of SPB, who is currently hospitalized in Chennai. Recently, Malayalam star Mammooty also recalled working with the great singer for a song. Mammootty wrote, "Wishing & praying for SPBalasubramaniam sirs speedy recovery. Meanwhile, SPB has won his battle with COVID-19. Rejecting rumors of SPB being removed from the ventilator, his son, singer-director SPB Charan, released a video stating that his health condition is still critical, though he is stable. He urged his fans not to believe any rumors and asked them to wait for their regular updates before confirming anything. On August 5, SP Balasubramanian shared a video revealing that he had tested positive for COVID 19 with mild symptoms. He also shared that doctors have suggested him to quarantine at home, but he has decided to undergo treatment in the hospital.
