Kolkata: Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee will hold a meeting with party MLAs today after registering her third consecutive victory in West Bengal. The meeting will be held at TMC headquarters at 4 pm. The meeting is said to be a formal process to elect Mamata Banerjee as the leader of the legislature party.

Cm Mamata Banerjee is likely to meet Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar at 7 pm today. Mamata is said to have staked claim to form the government before the governor. Mamata Banerjee will then be sworn in as CM for the third time by the governor.  Mamata Banerjee has scored a hat-trick of victories in West Bengal. TMC has won 213 seats in the assembly election results.  The BJP has to settle for 77 seats.

After the victory, Mamata Banerjee thanked the people of West Bengal and said that she will continue to work for the development of Bengal. Mamata Banerjee said her first priority now is to work on preventing the spread of corona maahamari in the state for which she has also sought help from the Centre.
