On Friday in Sivasagar's Gohaingaon, a mother was allegedly set on fire by her son. According to reports, a man named Santosh Sahu allegedly set his mother Sabita Sahu on fire over domestic issues.

His wife, however, denied lighting Sabita Sahu on fire in an appearance with the media."There have been some quarrels between my husband and mother-in-law during the previous several days," she explained. My spouse verbally attacked her even this morning, but she did not respond. He even requested that I not feed her."

She went on to say that her mother-in-law attempted suicide by lighting herself on fire following the morning scene. Locals who spoke out about the situation accused Santosh of being an alcoholic and alleged that he often assaults his mother over minor issues.

They believe he set her on fire after becoming drunk. Santosh was detained by the police on Friday morning, while his mother Sabita is being hospitalized at the Assam Medical College and Hospital with over 80% burns.
