A shocking incident comes to light from Kerala where a Transgender couple are expecting their first child. The couple is identified as Ziya and Zahad, a transgender couple. Ziya took to social media and announced this news with their pregnancy shoot photos. This is the first case in India that a transman has conceived.
As per the information, Ziya is born as a man and changed into a woman and Zahad, was born a woman and transformed into a man. The couple have been living together for the last three years. Zahad conceived the baby amid his transition process from a woman into a man. Zahhad is now eight months pregnant. Ziya Paval is a dancer, She took to social media to announce their pregnancy.
Sharing the photo shoot of their pregnancy photoshoot. She wrote, “We are about to realize my dream of becoming a mother and his dream of becoming a father. An eight-month-old foetus is now in (Zahhad’s) belly… From what we came to know, this is the first trans man’s pregnancy in India…. Though I was not a woman by birth or by my body, I had the feminine dream inside me to hear a baby calling me 'mother'....”
She further added, “It has been three years since we are together. Like my dream of becoming a mother, he (Zahad) has a dream of becoming a father and today a life of eight months is moving in his belly with his full consent. When we started to live together three years ago, we thought our life should be different from other transgenders. Most transgender couples are boycotted by the society as well as their respective families. We wanted a baby so that there is a person even after our days in this world are over,"
According to the information, The couple earlier planned to adopt a baby and enquired about the process. But the legal proceedings were challenging for them as they are a transgender couple. Then the idea that Zahad, biologically still female, could conceive a baby naturally occurred to them though Zahad was reluctant to fall back on feminity.
