New Delhi: A new threat has been knocked out in the national capital amid rising cases of corona infections. A 33-year-old man has been confirmed to have found a strain in South Africa. This is the city's first case of this new variant of the coronavirus. The infected have been admitted to Lok Nayak Hospital. It is reported that there are at least four such cases across the country.

According to media reports, the first case of the variant found in South Africa in Delhi has been found. Talking to the media, Dr. Suresh Kumar, medical director, Lok Nayak Hospital, said that the infected are from Kerala. 'He was found infected on his return from South Africa 9 days ago and was admitted to the hospital immediately,' he said, adding that "today we have received reports confirming that he is infected with the South African variant."

According to the doctor, the patient is asymptomatic. However, the person has been placed in isolation as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of infection. "We have created a special ward to isolate it so that patients with the UK variant or original strain of the corona are not found together," the doctor explained.
