Man killed by crocodile near Odisha's Bhitarkanika National Park

Kendrapara, In a tragic incident, yesterday a crocodile killed a 25 year-old-man, while he was taking bath in Brahmani river near the Bhitarkanika National Park.

DFO, Rajnagar Mangrove (wildlife) forest division, Bimal Prasanna Acharya said, "the mutilated body of Kedar Kumar Pradhan, resident of Chandanpur village under Rajnagar Tehsil, was fished out from the river by villagers".

After the locals were agitated over the frequent crocodile attacks on people, then forest officials rushed to village.

"A big crocodile suddenly emerged out of knee-length water and dragged him into the river", said an eyewitness of the incident, brother of the victim.

Recently, about a dozen people and many domestic animals have fallen victims to reptilesiin Kendrapara district.
