Dhanbad: The special court of POCSO has given an important verdict in the rape and murder case of a 5-year-old girl. The court of Dhanbad declared W Modi, a resident of Putki, a criminal and sentenced him to death for his crime. The court of Special Judge Prabhakar Singh of POCSO had convicted W in the case of murder and concealment of evidence after raping the girl. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 11,000 on him.

Public Prosecutor of POCSO Special Court Anil Kumar Singh said that in the court of POCSO Special Judge Prabhakar Kumar Singh, a total of seven witnesses were presented in the court in the manner of prosecution. Post-mortem was conducted after the body of the girl was found. FSL and DNA test were done in the Forensic Science Laboratory, whose report was submitted in the court. On the basis of the statements of the witnesses and all the test reports, the court pronounced the decision on Wednesday.

The same POCSO Special Court Public Prosecutor Anil Kumar Singh said that on 28 April 2018, W Modi had taken the girl from her family saying that he was taking her to feed her. Thereafter, when W came back home, the girl was not with him. When the family members asked, he did not know where he said. Thereafter, the local people told that the criminal had taken the girl towards W Jaitudih forest. On this, the girl's mother had lodged an FIR against W in the Putki police station regarding the case. After the registration of the FIR, the police recovered the body of the girl from Jaitudih forest.
