BHOPAL: A thirty-year-old man strangled his four-month-old son to death after his wife refused to return home late in the night on Saturday in Gandhi Nagar.

When Aryan stopped screaming, Sanjay Verma (the man charged with killing him) pulled him away from his mother and strangled him. Aryan then fled the scene.

At the time of the murder, it is said the accused was very inebriated. His wife had refused to accompany her inebriated husband home at night. Because of this, the father became furious and pulled the son off his wife's lap before strangling him to death.

The child was taken to the hospital in a hurry, where the doctor pronounced him dead. The suspect was taken into custody by police at Mubarakpur Jod.  The incident happened close to Gandhinagar. Sanjay alias Sanju Verma of Rajgarh wed Sangeeta Verma of BDA Quarter, Gondarmau, in 2015. Sangeeta visited her maternal house on Rakshabandhan with her four-month-old kid Aryan.

Sanju arrived at her in-laws' home on September 8 to bring her back and stayed there for three days. On Saturday night at around six o'clock, he arrived intoxicated and began pressuring his wife to go home.

He became enraged when his wife and his aunt Janki Bai requested to leave early the following day. He then took the boy from Sangeeta's lap, pushed him against the wall, and strangled him to death.
