English Premier League: Manchester City's two goals from Gabriel Jesus helped Manchester City survive their title hopes by defeating Burnley 4–1 at home in an English Football League (EPL) match. Manager Pep Gordiola's team reduced the number of points to eight with Liverpool, with manager Jurgen Klopp's team at the top of the points table. City's team played a 2–2 draw against Newcastle in their last match in the EPL. Gabriel has not scored goals for his club and his country Brazil in the last 10 matches.
Jesus opened his team's account with a goal in the 24th minute with the help of David Silva. Silva passed the ball to Jesus, then he quickly kicked the ball from outside the box and brought it to the right place. The first half was 1–1. In the 50th minute at the start of the second half, Jesus scored the second goal for himself and the team. This time Jesus Bernado Silva sent the ball inside the box towards the goalkeeper box, and then Jesus swiftly hit the ball and pushed it to the goal post.
Then, 18 minutes later, Rodrigo Hernandez scored easily to extend his team's lead to 3–0. Although in the last moments of this match, the team of Lamon City scored a goal, while Burnley also reduced the margin of their defeat by scoring a goal. Riyad Mahrez smashed three players from Burnley in the 87th minute to easily score and strengthen their team City's lead to 4-0. When there was one time left for the match to end, Robbie Brady of Burnley narrowed the match to 1-4.
Manchester City manager Pep Gordiola said, "We passed the ball brilliantly and we needed it. It was not easy to beat Burnley here. We played very smartly in the second half and it was a great performance. "
