On Tuesday, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya will attend a virtual meeting with nine states and the United Territories to assess the current position of Covid-19.
Mandaviya will meet with health ministers from Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Ladakh, Uttar Pradesh, and Chandigarh, according to a source.
The current Covid situation, and also public health preparedness for containment and control of the pandemic in these states, would be discussed at this meeting, he said.
Earlier, Mandaviya met with health ministers and senior officials from Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Goa, Dadra & Nagra Haveli, and Daman & Diu on January 10. Mandaviya had advised these states to make effective use of the ECRP-II cash for improving health infrastructure across the country, and asked them to make solid physical infrastructure preparations.
Meanwhile, India recorded a significant drop in new Covid cases on Monday, with 3,06,064. The country's aggregate Covid death toll has risen to 4,89,848 with the addition of 439 deaths in the last 24 hours.
