Mandla: An unidentified vehicle hit a vehicle on the National Highway in Mandla district of Madhya Pradesh late on Monday night. Two persons on the bike lost their lives in the accident. The incident was so hectic that people went on a rampage. They have accused the police and the administration of road security.

The accident took place on the National Highway under the Kotwali police station area. Both the bikers killed in the accident are said to be from Mandla. After the accident, people started creating a ruckus. The road got jammed. Police reached the spot and pacified everyone. Police are tracking the unidentified vehicle. Tehsildar, SDM and SDOP explained to the villagers at the spot. Villagers allege that accidents are taking place every other day in the area due to a lack of speed breakers. The police and the administration remain inefficient. No efforts are being made to avert the accident.

On the other hand, Madhya Pradesh was relieved of the severe cold. The minimum temperature was also above normal. The weather took a turn on Tuesday morning and most cities including Bhopal dropped in the morning. Rajgarh, Hoshangabad, Sehore, Raisen, Vidisha, Ashoknagar, Chhatarpur are receiving intermittent rainfall. Similar weather is likely to prevail in the state for two days. Weather experts say the new year will be welcomed amid severe cold wave conditions in the state.
