The schools in Manipur have been closed since March 2020 due to the rapid spread of the Covid-19 pandemic in India. The state government of Manipur has now decided to reopen the schools for students of classes 9 to 12 from January 27 in view of the upcoming board examinations for the higher classes. The state government has also issued a list of standard of procedures for the same.

Strict social distancing norms will also be enforced in the schools to reduce the risk of infection among the students and teachers. The seating arrangement of the classrooms will be changed to avoid overcrowding in the institutes.
