Manipur launches ‘Emergency Response Support System’ to help people in distress

Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh has launched an Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) to resolve the public issue immediately. The system was launched at the Manipur Police Control Room at the 1st Battalion Manipur Rifles complex in Imphal on Saturday.

Singh took to Twitter to share the information. He wrote, “Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) is launched today at the Manipur Police Control Room at 1st Bn. Manipur Rifles complex. ERSS is the vision of Govt. of India to launch an integrated emergency response system with a single emergency number 112 #Dial 112 for all emergencies,” Singh said in a tweet. ERSS seeks to enable a pan-India, single, internationally recognized number ‘112’ based emergency response mechanism.

CM Biren Singh said that this system would enable the authority to help people more effectively at the time of emergency. He further added that enhancement of manpower and installation of modern equipments at Cyber Crime Police Station and Forensic Science Laboratory is in active consideration by the Government. He also said that ERSS is the vision of Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India to launch a nationwide unified emergency system with a single emergency number 112 for all kinds of emergencies and distress calls from across the nation.
