IMPHAL: In an effort to understand the complex situation in the violence-stricken state of Manipur, a delegation of 21 MPs from the opposition bloc INDIA (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance) is preparing for a two-day visit. Their main focus will be to assess the ground realities and propose viable solutions to the government and Parliament.

Distinguished among the delegates is Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, a prominent Congress leader in the Lok Sabha. The team is eager to gain insights into the ongoing issues in Manipur and present their observations to the authorities.

To facilitate their visit to Churachandpur, the epicenter of the ethnic violence, the opposition MPs have requested local helicopter services from the state government.

Arrival and Plans in Imphal: The delegation is scheduled to arrive at the Imphal airport today at 12 pm. Upon arrival, they will divide into two teams and proceed to Churachandpur. Later in the day, the MPs are expected to conduct a press conference at 8.30 pm.

Reasons for the Opposition's Visit: The opposition leaders are demanding a thorough discussion on the situation in Manipur within the Parliament. Moreover, they have issued a no-confidence motion, pressing for a statement from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Diverse Group of Opposition MPs: Comprising members from both Houses, the 21-member opposition delegation includes representatives from various parties. Among them are Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Gaurav Gogoi, K Suresh, and Phulo Devi Netam from the Congress; Rajiv Ranjan Lalan Singh from JDU; Sushmita Dev from Trinamool Congress; Kanimozhi from DMK; Sandosh Kumar from the CPI; AA Rahim from CPI(M); Manoj Kumar Jha from RJD; Javed Ali Khan from SP; Mahua Maji from JMM; PP Mohammed Faizal from NCP; Aneel Prasad Hegde from JDU; ET Mohammed Basheer from IUML; NK Premachandran from RSP; Sushil Gupta from AAP; Arvind Sawant from Shiv Sena (UBT); D Ravikumar from VCK; and Thiru Thol Thirumavalavan, also from VCK; along with Jayant Singh from the RLD.

This diverse group of opposition MPs aims to shed light on the complexities of the situation in Manipur and propose effective measures to address the prevailing issues in the state. Their visit holds significance as they work towards a more unified and secure future for Manipur's citizens.
