Kejriwal govt to give Rs 1 crore each to kin of 6 martyrs

New Delhi: Delhi's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government has announced financial assistance of Rs 1 crore each to 6 families in Delhi. Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said the Delhi government had announced an amount of Rs 1 crore for police personnel and soldiers who have been martyred. He said that today 6 families are being provided financial assistance, out of which 3 are Air Force, 2 are Delhi Police and one is civil defence personnel.

The martyred jawans include Delhi Police's Sanket Kaushik and Vikas Kumar, Air Force's Rajesh Kumar, Sunil Mohanty, Meet Kumar and Civil Defence's Pravesh Kumar.  Tell us that Delhi Traffic Police ACP Sanket Kaushik died in an accident last year. ACP signs Kaushik was watching traffic on the Rajokri flyover in South West Delhi. At the same time, he was hit by a vehicle. The injured ACP was taken to AIIMS Hospital in Delhi where doctors declared him brought dead.

State that a petition was recently filed in the Delhi High Court. The Delhi High Court had issued a notice to the Kejriwal government on a petition seeking an amount of Rs 1 crore to all Corona Warriors who lost their lives from Corona within a stipulated time frame. According to the petitioner, so far the Delhi government has given this amount to the families of only 15 people. While the number of Corona Warriors dying from corona is very high, the number of doctors dying in Delhi is close to 117.
