New Delhi: Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, while addressing a press conference today, has called for a CBI probe into the new liquor policy. In a press conference, he made a big allegation about the new liquor policy of the Delhi government. Sisodia has said that the decision to repeal the new liquor policy was changed by the Lieutenant Governor (LG) without consulting the Cabinet. This resulted in a loss of thousands of crores of rupees to the Delhi Government.

Deputy CM Sisodia said the new liquor policy was implemented only after the approval of the LG. We demand a CBI inquiry into the matter. The AAP leader further said, "I have sent details to the CBI to investigate how the government's policy has been amended and benefited some people. I am sending documents to the CBI to investigate the matter. The LG decision cost the government thousands of crores and the shopkeepers benefited.'' He further said "In the new excise policy of 2021, we had said that only 849 shops will be kept, but their distribution will be kept in the same manner. In May 2021, the Cabinet passed the policy, after which the LG made some suggestions, incorporated them and said that the number of shops in Delhi would not be increased, but would be kept evenly throughout Delhi, which had illegal colonies.''

Sisodia said that the LG sahib passed twice without any objection, but when the proposal was sent to open the shops on November 2021, the shops were to be opened from November 17, but two days ago i.e. on November 15, LG saheb took permission from McD and DDA in the unauthenticated areas of the new condition pair, While they've been allowing before. A few days ago, when the LG ordered a CBI probe against the Delhi government's new liquor policy, the Arvind Kejriwal government announced to roll back the old excise policy and now the AAP government itself is conducting a CBI inquiry.
