New Delhi: Manish Sisodia, the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi and a leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), said on Friday that the central government should have abolished the three agriculture legislation a year ago and urged the government to apologise to farmers. This statement comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi said earlier in the day that the three Central agriculture legislation would be repealed.

"The union movement should have taken this decision a year ago. Farmers protested on the highways for a year, resisting the winter, rain, and even during the COVID-19 pandemic and dengue outbreak. This is something for which the government should apologise. Families of farmers who died during the protests should also taken into consideration and receive an apology from the government. The government should also apologise for labelling farmers as terrorists, Khalistanis, and other derogatory terms "Sisodia explained. Sisodia praised the farmers on the success of their movement on Twitter.

"Thank you to the farmers and the farmers' movement for their efforts. Your nonviolent struggle, which lasted a year, pushed the despotic government to submit. The central government had no choice but to submit to the hundreds of farmers who had died " Sisodia said. Since the government's three agricultural regulations were passed by the Centre in 2020, farmers have been resisting them.
