Modi salutes frontline workers in 'Mann Ki Baat' and conveyed this special message

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation through the Mann Ki Baat programme today. In the meantime, he said, "The country fought with full vigour against the first wave of Covid-19 and now it is fighting it strongly in the second wave also. Masks, proper distance rearing and vaccination are the right measures to prevent and I am confident that India will conquer the epidemic this time too". He further said, "Just in the last 10 days, the country has again faced two major cyclones, cyclone Tauktae on the West Coast and Cyclone Yas on the east coast. Both these cyclones affected several States. The people of the country and the country fought them with full force and at least ensured loss of life".

He said, "We now feel that we are saving more lives than in previous years". At the same time, he said, "No matter how many frontline workers are engaged in sample collection during the second wave of the epidemic. It is a service to go among infected patients, to sample them. I salute all frontline workers who have done their duty to the country at such a time without worrying about their lives. He further said, "These colleagues have to wear PPE kits even in such heat to defend themselves. After so much hard work, these samples reach the lab. So before the event, when I was reading your suggestions and questions, I decided that these colleagues of ours should also be discussed".

He further said, "No matter how big the challenge, India's resolve to win has been equally big. Devotion and discipline have taken the country out of every storm. All the three army personnel are engaged in the fight against Corona. I and the entire country are proud of them. Moreover, referring to the recent storms, the PM said in his programme, "The way the people of all the states affected by the cyclone in the Corona period have shown courage, fought with great patience, discipline in this hour of crisis".
