Many states worried about Indians trapped in Ukraine, issued helpline numbers

Dehradun: Amidst the war between Russia and Ukraine (Russia Ukraine Crisis), many Indian people are still trapped in Ukraine, to get them out of which the Indian government is struggling. Many states and their CMs are also worried about these people trapped in Ukraine. In this the names of Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik and Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami are included. For this, he has discussed with Home Minister Amit Shah and even the Ministry of External Affairs. Apart from this, helpline numbers have also been issued by Punjab and Uttarakhand to help the people, along with Karnataka has also appointed a nodal officer.

The Jalandhar administration in Punjab said that a helpline number (0181-2224417) has been issued to get information about the people of Jalandhar trapped in Ukraine. It has been told that people can come to the DC office at room number 22 during office hours to provide information about their family members. Apart from Jalandhar, Uttarakhand DGP Ashok Kumar told in Dehradun today that Uttarakhand's general helpline number 112, has been asked to provide information about the people of Uttarakhand trapped in Ukraine. So far we have received information of 78 persons.

The same Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik discussed the call with Union Home Minister Amit Shah this morning and appealed to him to rescue Odia students and workers trapped in Ukraine. Home Minister Shah assured the CM that the government is in touch with the Ukrainian government and is working to bring back Odia students and laborers at the earliest. Simultaneously, the Government of Karnataka has appointed a nodal officer in Ukraine to facilitate the safe movement of stranded persons from Karnataka to their respective destinations. The nodal office will coordinate with the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian Embassy in Ukraine's capital Kiev and provide assistance for the evacuation of stranded persons from the state. The same Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said in Dehradun that for the students and other people of the state who are trapped in Ukraine, we are in constant contact with the higher officials of the Ministry of External Affairs. For this, we have issued a toll free number by appointing a nodal officer. Our government will provide all possible help.
