New Delhi: On the death anniversary of late PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, a prayer meeting was also organized at his samadhi 'Sadaiv Atal' today. President Draupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar were seen paying tribute to him by offering flowers. PM Narendra Modi also appeared on Wednesday morning, offering floral tributes to former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee at the 'Sadaiv Atal' memorial on his death anniversary.
Rajnath, Shah, and Gadkari also paid tribute. Reports say that Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari paid floral tributes at the 'Sadaiv Atal' memorial on former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee's death anniversary. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh were also seen paying floral tributes at the 'Always Atal' memorial on the death anniversary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Namita Kaul Bhattacharya, the foster daughter of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, also laid a wreath at the 'Sadaiv Atal' memorial on his death anniversary.

Died on August 16, 2018: Reports say that, born in 1924 in Gwalior, Vajpayee was the face of the BJP for decades and was the first non-Congress PM to complete his term. Vajpayee also served as the Prime Minister of India from 16 May 1996 to 1 June 1996 and again from 19 March 1998 to 22 May 2004. He also served as the External Affairs Minister of India from 1977 to 1979 in Prime Minister Moraji Desai's cabinet. He died on August 16, 2018 at AIIMS Hospital in Delhi. After coming to power in 2014, PM Narendra Modi announced to honor former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna.
