Many villages and businesses imposed self-lockdown across Telangana

While Government is not in mood to impose lockdown many villagers and area specific are going in for self-lockdown. Same case reported from Villages across Telangana State. Here traders are closing businesses early, village elders and panchayats are restricting various activities in their respective villages to reduce human interaction.

Here it is to be noted that while state government imposed a night curfew to restrict spreading corona infection and also restricted the movement of people and operation of businesses from 9 pm to 5 am. Despite this, there has been a spike in Covid-19 cases in certain pockets. Fearing that the pandemic might spread further, the villagers are imposing restrictions for one to two weeks or until the situation improves.

In this self-lockdown, Khammam Merchants Association decided to impose a partial lockdown . Similarly, a total lockdown was imposed in Cherla mandal headquarters of Kothagudem district . Gram panchayats are passing resolutions to impose the lockdown while village elders in some tribal hamlets are asking the residents to observe lockdown voluntarily. Similarly, in Gandhari mandal headquarters, the Village Development Committee (VDC) and the Gram Panchayat Committee have taken a joint decision a few days ago to impose a lockdown in the village.
