Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has said that Maoists have joined the farmers' protest against the three agriculture laws. It comes after Farmers' organizations have announced a hunger strike today against the agricultural laws of the central government. 

For the past 19 days, the farmers of Haryana, Punjab and western Uttar Pradesh, who have been living on the borders of Delhi, are constantly demanding the repeal of the agricultural laws. At the same time, the government says that it is ready to amend the points on which the farmers have objected to the agricultural laws. 

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, while talking to the media about the peasant movement, said, 'I appeal to the farmers who are protesting against the agricultural laws in Delhi not to fall into the trap of communists. The Maoists have already entered among you and they will try to convert the farmers into their party cadres, as they did in my state. 40 farmer leaders are on hunger strike today after five rounds of negotiations with the government were inconclusive. 

Deb claimed that in less than three years' time after the Communists have been removed by the BJP-IPFT government, the per capita income of the state has crossed Rs 1.25 lakh which in 2017-18 during Communists rule was around Rs 1 lakh.

40 leaders of farmers' organizations are sitting on hunger strike from 8 am to 5 pm on all the borders of Delhi today. Of these, 25 farmer leaders are sitting on a hunger strike on the Delhi border, 10 on the Tikari border and 5 on the UP border. We demand that the central government withdraw all three anti-farmer laws.
