On Tuesday, both the Sensex and the Nifty50 indexes in India finished in the red. The Sensex down 195.71 points, or 0.34 percent, to 57064.87 at the closing, while the Nifty fell 81.40 points, or 0.48 percent, to 16972.60. The top gainers are Power Grid Corporation, Shree Cements, and Bajaj Finserv, while the top losers are Tata Steel, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Reliance Industries, and Bajaj Auto.

The metal index plummeted over 2 percent , followed by banks, auto, and power, but IT, Realty, and FMCG ended the day in the black. The midcap and smallcap indices both concluded the day with gains. The BSE Midcap index increased by 0.3 percent, while the BSE Smallcap index increased by 1.5 percent. Around 1675 shares have increased in value, 1383 shares have decreased in value, and 112 shares have remained steady.

Go Fashion (India), which debuted on the stock exchange today, finished the first day of trading with a strong gain of 81 percent, closing at Rs 1,249 a share, up from its issue price of Rs 690 per share. In today's transactions, the stock hit a high of Rs 1,341 and a low of Rs 1,144.

On Tuesday, European markets plummeted more than 1 percent after the CEO of vaccine company Moderna questioned the efficiency of COVID-19 vaccines against the Omicron coronavirus strain. The pan-European STOXX 600 index has down 1.3 percent by 0815 GMT, reaching its lowest level in nearly seven weeks. The DAX in Germany, the CAC 40 in France, and the FTSE 100 in the United Kingdom all sank between 1.1 and 1.5 percent in early trading.
