Maruthi Nagar Police Station opens with Jai (Mahat Raghavendra), who is on his way home. Filmmaker Dayal Padmanabhan created a significant impact with his most recent movie, Kondral Paavam. He receives a call from her police officer buddy Archana (Varalaxmi). After speaking with Archana on the phone, Jai disappears. Later on, she finds out that Jai was killed. Additionally, Naga (Subramanian Siva), a gangster and police officer, is implicated.

She wants to exact revenge on Jai's killer with the assistance of three of her pals. The police officer and mobster are assassinated inside the police station by an unknown person just as they are about to complete their goal. ACP Nedunchezhiyan (Arav) is brought in to take command of the investigation. Will Varalaxmi be able to identify Jai's killer?

The other family members are profoundly devastated when one of them mysteriously passes away one night. The group of friends devise a strategy to track down the murderer since they are adamant about avenging the loss of their close friend.

One of them is Archana (Varalaxmi), who plays a police officer. According to Archana's research, their companion was killed close to the Maruthi Nagar Police Station. The rest of the story is around what happens inside Maruthi Nagar Police Station after Archana quickly transfers there.

You become so irritated by a police officer when the action changes to the Maruthi Nagar Police Station because he cracks the worst jokes that he finds on WhatsApp. You lose interest in the story before being lured into it.

The plot doesn't really take off until Arav shows up. Even there, the investigation method appears to be very simple and practical. Varalaxmi and her pals' plans are known to Arav. And from the way he looks, it's very obvious. Varalaxmi, though, is unaware of it. How practical? The plot leaves a lot of unfinished business, which renders Maruthi Nagar Police Station dull.

Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Arav, Santhosh Prathap, and Mahat Raghavendra have all given their greatest performances so far. Perhaps the story would have more depth if the director had focused on the history of their friendship or relationship. Varalaxmi and her pals are reared in an orphanage, that is all we learn. You should now feel sorry for them and That’s your cue to feel sad for them and empathise with them.

In a thriller, the buildup to the big reveal usually means more than the twists themselves. In Maruthi Nagar Police Station, which becomes extremely predictable after the first few minutes, you won't find that buildup. Varalaxmi has a meatier role in terms of performances, and she pulls it off quite well. Until the very end, Arav's character is unclear of what it wants to be. He may have had a stronger impact on the story if his character had been written with more nuance.
