Maruti production increased in November after 9 months of cut, data sent to stock market

New Delhi: The country's main car company Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) increased its production by 4.33 percent in November. Due to this, the company had to reduce its production during the last nine months due to lack of demand. In a communication sent to the stock exchanges, the company said that it produced 1,41,834 vehicles in November, compared to 1,35,946 units in the same month a year ago.

The company's passenger vehicle production last month stood at 1,39,084 units as against 1,34,149 units in November 2018. Thus the production of passenger vehicles increased by 3.67 percent. The total production of the mini and compact segments Alto, New WagonR, Celerio, Ignis, Swift, Baleno and Dzire was recorded at 102,185 units during the month against 95,883 units in the same month a year ago. Production of utility vehicles such as the Vitara Brezza, Ertiga and S-Cross increased by 18 percent to 27,187 units during the same month a year ago from 23,038 units.

Production of medium-sized Ciaz increased to 1,830 units in November from 1,460 units in the same month a year ago. The production figure of the light commercial vehicle Super Carry rose to 2,750 units from 1,797 units in November 2018. In October, Maruti reduced its production by 20.7 percent.
