Maruti Suzuki has decided to reduce production capacity at its plants due to the slowdown in the auto sector. The company will operate only one shift at its plant before the festive season. The decision was taken in view of the decline in sales in Maruti cars and the remaining inventory. Earlier, Maruti has fired 1,181 temporary employees.

For your information, Maruti Suzuki has decided to work in only one shift at the Manesar plant. Despite the coming festive season, Maruti Suzuki is working on reducing production rather than increasing production. Maruti can also implement the scheme at the Gujarat plant.

Maruti Suzuki has an annual capacity of 7,50,000 units at the Manesar plant. The company is also manufacturing Ertiga, WagonR, Swift, Dzire and Baleno cars. According to reports, temporary workers' jobs are in peril due to low construction of cars as the scheme is to be implemented in other plants as well. Maruti Suzuki has also been shutting down its plants from time to time to control production capacity. Maruti Suzuki will keep the plant shut down for at least three days on Onam and Ganesh Chaturthi. Just a month before the festival and these cuts were not in the original output schedule. Maruti Suzuki has reduced its production by 10 percent in the current financial year 2019-20.
