PATNA: All four suspects in the shooting spree earlier this week that resulted in one death and 10 injuries have been detained by Begusarai police.
The primary suspect, Keshav Kumar alias Naga, who was trying to flee to Ranchi on Thursday night but was apprehended at the Jhajha railway station, has also been photographed by the police.
He identified the other three suspects namely Sumit Kumar, Youraj, and Arjun Kumar, during questioning. Following the development, Begusarai SP Yogendra Kumar made an appeal for people to come forward if they had any information while also releasing a photo of Keshav.
Later in the day, the SP is scheduled to speak to the media during which he will provide precise information regarding the accused's motivation.
The shootout took place on Septembre 13.
At Godhna village, which is under Bachwara police station, the two attackers on bikes started shooting. One Nitish Kumar sustained bullet injury in the incident.
After that, the assailants went to Begusarai-Muzaffarpur NH 28 and fired at Ayodhya Chowk, which is protected by Teghra police station, inflicting Dipak Kumar with a wound.
The suspect then went to Adharpur Village on NH 28 and shot at Vishal Solanki, a worker for a financial company. They then assassinated Chandan Kumar at Pipra Malti Chowk, which is beneath the Barauni police station. At the same location, another person was hurt.
Following the fourth incident, the assailants turned off NH 28 at 0 miles and headed toward NH 31, which connects Patna. They started shooting at Bharat Yadav, 45, at Barauni Thermal Power Chowk.
The suspect shot at Prasant Kumar Rajak (35), Ranjeet Yadav (25), and Jito Paswan after travelling a distance (37).
During the hour of devastation, the attackers travelled 30 KM on NH 28 and NH 31, then vanished.
