Chandigarh: In a resounding display of support for the state government's pro-people and development-focused initiatives, a multitude of people participated in the 'Vikas Kranti' rally led by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in Hoshiarpur on Saturday.

During the rally, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann inaugurated, laid the foundation stone for, or announced developmental projects totaling Rs 867 Crore, aimed at fostering the overall development of the Kandi region. He emphasized that these initiatives would bring prosperity to the lives of the people, marking a historic transformation for the entire region. Mann underscored his government's commitment to the holistic development of the area, lamenting the neglect it faced under previous administrations.

Chief Minister Mann lauded Arvind Kejriwal as a legendary and revolutionary leader, crediting him with bringing the common man to the center stage of Indian politics. He clarified that the event was not a political rally but a dedicated effort towards Hoshiarpur's development. Mann highlighted the unprecedented development occurring across the state in the 18 months of the Aam Aadmi Party's regime, particularly in hospitals, schools, and the establishment of new medical colleges for the welfare of the common man.

Taking a swipe at traditional political parties, Mann criticized Sukhbir Badal and his associates for selling the state's interests and insulting the youth of Punjab by baselessly labeling AAP as the party of "Vagabonds" (Malangs). He confidently predicted a sweeping victory for AAP in the upcoming general elections, with a tally of 13 seats in favor of the party and a complete shutout for other contenders. Mann welcomed any defamation case Sukhbir Badal might file, expressing readiness to use it as an opportunity to expose the misdeeds of the Badal family before the public.
