New Delhi:- The 2024 schedule was announced this week, with a record number of events scheduled, and much buzz ahead of the British Grand Prix. In this regard, Verstappen said 24 races was "too many" for him, but added: "We just deal with it."

It follows the Dutchman's remarks in Australia in April about the recent changes to the weekend format of F1 sprint races and his love of F1, saying he was "not here anymore". About the full GP competition - some comments are interpreted as threats of termination.   

Asked why he is unhappy with some aspects of F1 at the moment, and whether he is really considering retiring when his Red Bull contract expires at the end of 2028, Verstappen said: "More things have to be reconciled to decide whether to stay longer. "But sure, all those things definitely don't help."

Regarding the growing F1 calendar and Verstappen's comments, Russell said his positions were contrasting: "I do what I love and in a way, I feel like the more, the more fun."  As for the specific reason for Verstappen's remarks, Russell responded with a smile. "I think he's whining because he wants more money!"

"But I think it's all his big strategy, the threat of retirement and things like that," Russell added. "I hope he doesn't and I hope he stays as long as I do because I want to fight the best riders in the world. "Right now I'm fighting directly with Lewis [Mercedes team-mate Hamilton], but I also want the opportunity with Max, Charles [Leclerc], and Lando [Norris].

"And I think at the moment we are in a very good position sportingly. "But I think it's a challenge. We can't keep adding more commitments and races.

“Whenever you add something, there is always a point where something has to be removed. "And maybe at the moment, I myself know that the commitment to add more races is not reduced.

"So they're working overtime and I'm sure and I'm sure it's the same for Red Bull." But Russell went on to say that Red Bull's drivers "are the highest paid drivers on the grid, so it's no surprise given their achievements."

"If we (the drivers) had no other commitments, I think we would be happy to race every weekend." 

The calendar of the F1 for the year 2024 is been released but Max Verstappen seems Unhappy about attending the events for the coming year and his contract will be ending by 2028 with Red Bull.
