Pune: The Maharashtra government has relaxed 25 districts in view of the decline in corona cases. Talking about Pune, level 3 restrictions are still in force here. In Pune, common traders and public representatives have also taken an aggressive stand against it. Pune Mayor Murlidhar Mohol has written to state health minister Rajesh Tope demanding relaxation of shop hours in the city till at least 8 pm.
According to information received, Health Minister Rajesh Tope had sought a proposal from Pune Municipal Corporation regarding exemption in the city, and accordingly, Mayor Murlidhar Mohol has moved the proposal today. The corona review meeting to be held tomorrow is expected to decide on the laxity in Pune. Just yesterday, BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis's wife Amrita Fadnavis had also criticized the state government over the corona restrictions in Pune. In fact, she said, "I don't know why Pune did not start when its positivity rate was 4%.''
However, traders in Pune have been aggressive for the past three days. Shops here have been given time till 4 pm, though traders in Pune have kept shops open till 7 pm in violation of rules. Meanwhile, the police closed the traders' shop on the first day, though the police have been taking legal action continuously since then. Just yesterday, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray inaugurated the Municipal Divisional Office at Khar H West. In the meantime, he said, "We urge citizens and traders where lockdown restrictions cannot be relaxed, please exercise restraint. There is nothing like being an enemy. The lives of all citizens are at stake. So, these things need to be done.''
