The Chandigarh Municipal Corporation has issued notifications for 172 vacancies in the first recruitment of the department after a decade. The final recruitment drive was conducted by the corporation in 2010, through which the posts of Junior Engineer (JE), Fireman and Sub-Divisional Engineer (SDE), etc.

According to the notification, eligible candidates are to be recruited in several other posts including 81 posts of the fireman, 01 posts of station fire officer, 41 posts of Clarke, 02 posts of SDE, and junior engineer. Other posts include Sub-Inspector (Enforcement Department), Computer Programmer, Law Officer, Data Entry Operator, and others. The Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh (MCC) is going to start the recruitment process through online mode on 8th April. The application window will close on May 03 while May 08 is the last date for payment of the application fee.

The same applications will be accepted only through online medians. Various departments of MCC are facing an acute shortage of personnel. More than 55 percent of the permanent posts are vacant. The University of Punjab will conduct this recruitment test and release the results.
