New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has moved the Supreme Court over the municipal elections (MCD) in Delhi. AAP has requested that MCD elections should be held at the scheduled time. The State Election Commission had postponed the announcement of the dates of MCD elections in the past. The central government's letter was cited as the reason behind this. It said that the central government wants to integrate the three MCDs.

In the Supreme Court, the AAP has said that the elections should be held on time and the schedule of the elections should not be postponed due to the talks with the central government. The AAP said that the central government's informal talks on the possibility of uniting the three MCDs should not have an impact on the election schedule. On the postponement of the MCD election schedule after the central government's intervention in Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal had tweeted that "BJP has run away. MCD postponed the election. The BJP has given up. Delhiites are angry. They are saying that they dare not make elections? They will now forfeit their bail."

Arvind Kejriwal further claimed that in our survey, 250 seats were coming out of 272, but now more than 260 seats will come.
