New Delhi: AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi has targeted PM Narendra Modi over the action of the BJP-ruled South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) to shut down meat shops during the nine-day long Navratri festival. In fact, SDMC Mayor Mukesh Suryan has written a letter to the Municipal Commissioner on Monday, directing him to take necessary action to shut down the meat shops coming under his jurisdiction during Navratri festival.

Reacting sharply to the letter of the Mayor of South Delhi Municipal Corporation, Asaduddin Owaisi tweeted that, 'Modi wants Ease of Doing Business for big industrialists and Ease of Doing in bigotry for his ideological henchmen. Who will compensate the loss due to the closure of meat shops? Meat isn't impure, it's just a food like garlic or onions. If people don't want to buy meat, then only 99% not 100% people have the option of not buying meat.

Let us inform that this is the first time that orders have been given by SDMC to close meat shops during Navratri festival being celebrated from April 2-11. In a letter to SDMC commissioner Gyanesh Bharti, Mayor Mukesh Suryan has said that religious beliefs and sentiments of devotees are affected when they pass in front of meat shops while going to worship Maa Durga during Navratri festival. .
