New Delhi: Home Minister Amit Shah has recently returned from a visit to Jammu and Kashmir. Former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has now started raising questions about the speeches made during Shah's visit. Mehbooba said these things while addressing a rally on her visit to Jammu on Sunday. Mehbooba has said that thanks to the workers working in Jammu for our party. It is very difficult to work in Jammu by joining PDP because some forces have tarnished our image. But my childhood was spent in Jammu itself.

Mufti has further said that 'I am feeling very bad for the people of Jammu. They are facing many troubles. My father Mufti Sayeed had joined hands with PM Modi for the cause of Jammu.'

The former CM further said, 'Recently Amit Shah came to Jammu and Kashmir. He has said that Article 370 has been removed from Jammu and Kashmir. Now he is going to crown the Hindu CM. I ask him why did he not make the man from Jammu the Lieutenant Governor? Why did they bring someone from UP, Bihar?'

Mehbooba asked whether there is no Hindu left from Jammu, who is capable of becoming a Lieutenant Governor or Chief Secretary. Even the chairman of J&K Bank is from outside J&K? They (BJP) can also at least make Dr Karan Singh the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir. Mehbooba Mufti has said that trucks laden with fruits of Kashmiris were not allowed to cross the Banihal tunnel. Are they engaged in growing fruit to rot?

When Shah was on a visit to Jammu and Kashmir, Mehbooba accused the Srinagar police of putting her under house arrest. Mehbooba had said, 'The Home Minister is roaming around beating the drum of normalcy in Kashmir. But I have been placed under house arrest. I was supposed to go to Pattan to attend the marriage of one of my workers, but I was not allowed to go. If the fundamental rights of a former CM can be crushed so easily then the plight of the common man cannot be imagined.'
