Meta has embarked on a groundbreaking collaboration with the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) to equip 1 million traders with the essential skills to excel on WhatsApp Business within the next three years.
To ensure widespread accessibility throughout India, the course material and exams are available in English, Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu.
In addition, Meta has proudly unveiled the Meta Small Business Academy (MSBA), a transformative initiative aimed at empowering 10 million small businesses through enhanced expertise.
This progressive partnership will be executed through numerous trade associations affiliated with CAIT across the nation.
According to a 2022 survey conducted by Meta and IPSOS Public Affairs, a staggering 91% of surveyed small and medium enterprises in India currently utilize digital tools, highlighting the significant role of messaging apps and tools in connecting with customers. More than half of the respondents credited WhatsApp with expanding their customer base and improving customer accessibility.
Sandhya Devanathan, Vice President (India) at Meta, emphasized, "While the MSBA certification program primarily benefits aspiring entrepreneurs, our collaboration with CAIT will empower traders across India to leverage the potential of the WhatsApp Business app, propelling their growth journeys to new heights."
Praveen Khandelwal, National Secretary General of CAIT, expressed optimism, stating, "This groundbreaking initiative is set to unlock boundless growth opportunities for traders nationwide. We eagerly anticipate deepening our partnership with Meta as we expand our business and digital skilling endeavors to cater to the evolving needs of the trading community in the coming months."
