NEW DELHI: e-commerce platform JioMart users can now shop using WhatsApp chat thanks to a new end-to-end shopping experience that IT giants Meta and Jio Platforms unveiled on Monday.

Customers will be able to use the new feature to browse the JioMart product catalogue, add items to their cart, and make purchases all within WhatsApp. "We are eager to begin our collaboration with JioMart in India. This is the first time we've ever had an end-to-end shopping experience on WhatsApp, where users can now purchase food directly from JioMart in a chat "Meta's founder and CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, stated in a Facebook post. In the years to come, "chat-based interactions like this will be the standard way consumers and businesses communicate," he continued, "business messaging is an area with significant momentum."

The launch is a component of a strategic alliance between Meta and Jio Platforms designed to hasten India's digital transformation and give individuals and organisations of all sizes the chance to connect in novel ways and support national economic progress.
