Women in many countries, including India, have faced a large number of online abuse, for which META has launched initiatives such as 'Women's Safety Hub' and 'Safe Stree' On Safer Internet Day 2022, Meta has also started emphasizing these initiatives, which are going to help keep women safe online. The initiative is going to provide a range of tools and resources for women to work better in the online world in multiple languages, including Hindi.

Head of Policy Programme and Outreach Facebook India Madhu Singh Sirohi has spoken about these initiatives, the safety and well-being of our community on Facebook and Instagram is also a priority. We are constantly investing in it. We have made this effort to create a Women's Safety Hub and a campaign, 'Safe Stree on Instagram' from the beginning. The benefits of which can also be made available in regional languages like Hindi to reach across the country. We are working towards the goal of continuing this effort through our products, policies and programmes.

Women's Safety Hub: Video on demand security training has been introduced in the Women's Safety Hub portal. Visitors are allowed to register for live security training. It is going to enable more women users in  India to get information about the tools and resources that can help them make the most of their social media experience. It has also been launched in Hindi along with 11 other Indian languages, so that millions of women, especially those who do not speak English, do not have to face the problem of language in accessing information easily.

'Safe Stree' on Instagram: This is an initiative of Instagram, in which platforms like Youth Media and Insights Company, Youth and Pink Legal are its supporting platforms, which are also working on understanding women's rights and laws, challenging gender stereotypes and providing a secure online platform for women. The campaign unfolded in two parts- the first, the 6-part training program and the second, a content series on the reel. It has also been created by a diverse group of 6 women creators in their respective mother tongues, highlighting the safety features that have been introduced to women on Instagram. The first is about ways to create a more inclusive online space.

Work towards empowering women:  Meta has also launched StopNCII.org in partnership with the UK Revenge Helpline. In India, the platform is also working closely with organisations like Social Media Matters, Centre for Social Research and Red Dot Foundation and is going to empower women across the world to combat and prevent the spread of Non-Consual Intimate Imagery (NCII). In the last year, the company has also introduced many security features in Facebook and Instagram apps, such as hidden words, limits, comments control, multi-block and the option to hide likes.
