New Delhi: The Union Home Ministry has denied the news that the ration allowance of the CRPF jawans was withheld. In fact, the delay in releasing an additional amount of Rs 800 crore by the government has had an impact on the ration allowance of the CRPF personnel. A senior official said that in September, the ration allowance of the soldiers was stopped to the CRPF due to non-receipt of funds. Calling this news as false, the CRPF said that this is not the reason for not giving ration allowance to the soldiers. They will soon be given ration allowance for the month of September.
All three forces practised together for the first time in the country
The soldiers and non-gazetted officers are given ration allowance for their daily salary along with their monthly salary. The CRPF says that recently the government has rescheduled the ration allowance. Due to this, this security force comprising 3.25 lakh soldiers has suffered. The security force said in a statement that this amount is more than six times the ration allowance per month to the jawans and non-gazetted officers. The statement said, "The process of payment of ration allowance (about Rs. 3600) is going on for September."

"It will be paid soon, so the matter of the soldiers being without ration allowance is untrue, baseless and unrestrained. There is no crisis about it.'' On 12 July, the Home Ministry paid an amount of Rs 22,194 (each) as arrears to nearly two lakh jawans after rescheduling ration allowance. The ministry has termed such reports as baseless.
