New Delhi: The government is fully preparing the army to meet the increasing security challenges in the country. In recent times, such manoeuvres have become necessary to deal with the challenges posed by Pakistan. The Special Operations Division of the three armies conducted their first manoeuvres in Gujarat, close to Pakistan, to keep themselves ready against the terrorists. Defence sources said that the first exercise of the Special Operations Division of the armies was carried out at Naliya in Gujarat. Its code name was Smelling Field.

Naliya in Kutch district is an important base of the Air Force and Army. Army, Navy and Air Force commandos participated in this exercise. The Special Forces personnel demonstrated their proficiency in counter-insurgency operations and other exercises. Special commandos of Army, Navy and Air Force are being trended together in Special Operation Division.
