MiG-21 crashes in Moga, sunk in the ground pilot dies of neck fracture

A MiG-21 fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force was damaged near Moga in Punjab at around 9:30 pm on Thursday night. According to SP (Headquarters) Gurdeep Singh, pilot Abhinav Chaudhary lost his life in the accident. The incident took place near Langiana Khurd village of Baghapurana, about 25 km from Moga. The plane caught fire as soon as it fell.

It is learnt that the rescue team reached the spot around 11.30 pm due to bad weather. According to news agency, the IAF said the aircraft was on a regular training flight at the time of the accident.  According to reports, SP Head Quarter Gurdeep Singh said that pilot Abhinav Chaudhary had taken off from Suratgarh Air Base in Rajasthan for Inayatpura near Jagarav. When abhinav chaudhary, a pilot who had gone for practice, flew back from Inayatpura to Suratgarh, he came to Moga's village Langiana and thought the plane was falling down. Pilot Chaudhary jumped off the plane. The body of the pilot has also been found eight acres away from where the plane crashed. He died of a broken neck.

Let us tell you that the plane landed in the fields 500 metres from the houses of the village. A message was received from the control room that a ship crashed near Langiana. Moga SSP Harmanbir Singh Gill and all senior police officials rushed to the spot and formed separate teams to trace the pilot. Teams of Bathinda Air Force and Halwara Air Force had also reached the spot. The body of pilot Abhinav Chaudhary was recovered after about 4 hours of work.
