New Delhi: Corona's speed in the country seems to be slowing down now than before. New corona cases have registered a decline for the second day in a row. According to the latest data released on Friday, 2,59,591 new cases have been reported in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, the death figure is higher than thursday. Corona has claimed 4,209 lives. However, the relief is that the recovery rate is increasing. In 24 hours, 3,57,295 corona patients have been discharged from hospitals.
Talking about the ongoing corona vaccination campaign in the country, 190 million people across the country have been vaccinated by May 20. The figure has been released by the Union Health Ministry. Ministry data shows that on the 125th day of the vaccination campaign on Thursday, a total of 14,56,088 vaccine supplements were administered. 12,73,785 people have been given the first dose and 182,303 second doses.
The ministry said 7,36,514 beneficiaries in the age group of 18-44 took their first dose on Thursday and the total number has reached 85,84,054 since the launch of Phase-III of the vaccination campaign on May 1. On the other hand, according to data released by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 20,61,683 samples have been tested for corona virus in India. A total of 32,44,17,870 samples have been tested as of Thursday.
