BMW has revealed that it has produced 1 lakh cars in India. The BMW Group Plant in Chennai produced the 1,00,000th vehicle earlier today. The 740Li M Sport edition was the 1,00,000th BMW automobile built in India. BMW began manufacturing cars in India in 2007, marking the company's 15th year of operations in the country. The 2 Series Gran Coupe, 3 Series, 3 Series Gran Limousine, 5 Series, 6 Series Gran Turismo, 7 Series, MINI Countryman, and the X series of SUVs are among the 13 models produced by the German automaker in the nation.
As said before, the 740Li M Sport, which comes with various M-specific visual changes, is the 1,00,000th car to roll off the BMW assembly line in India. The 3.0-litre, six-cylinder turbo petrol engine produces 335 horsepower and 450 Nm of peak torque between 1,500 and 5,200 rpm. This engine is paired with an eight-speed Steptronic automatic transmission, enabling the sedan to go from zero to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds.
The sedan has a panoramic glass roof, four-zone automatic climate control, electrically adjustable comfort seats with massage function and seat ventilation, two 10.2-inch full-HD touch displays, BMW Live Cockpit, wireless smartphone connectivity, wireless phone charging pad, and more. It costs 1.45 crore (ex-showroom, India). Last year, the business introduced the BMW Individual 740Li M Sport version in India, which comes in two colours — Tanzanite Blue and Dravit Grey — and has Nappa leather interior with Mocha and Black stitching options.
