Mumbai: The Mumbai Congress has started strategizing for the 2022 Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections. The Mumbai Congress has suggested that personalities like Riteish Deshmukh, model Milind Soman or actor Sonu Sood, son of former Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, been made mayoral candidates. In fact, recently, the Mumbai Congress has said, "In the upcoming elections, the party should consider fielding such personality.''
According to the information received, the congress strategic document mentions the names of the three actors, though none of them are members of the Congress party. Let me tell you that the 25-page strategy document has been prepared by Mumbai Congress Secretary Ganesh Yadav and has not been presented to the leaders so far. The document is scheduled to be presented to AICC Secretary and Maharashtra in-charge HK Patil in the coming days. Ganesh Yadav says Mumbai Congress President Bhai Jagtap will discuss the document with senior party leaders.
The same document advises that the party should give people who appeal to the youth as per the pre-election document. In addition, the party high command has also been asked to give a chance to young professionals, social activists, and start-up owners under image building exercises. According to the information received, the strategic document also said that the party should make its stand very clear whether it will ally with Shiv Sena in the BMC elections or not. Further, the document says that "an immediate decision should be taken in this regard so that it is also reflected in the decisions taken in the BMC.'' At present, the Congress presence in the BMC is negligible as party leaders and workers are confused over the current situation.
