Government committed to tribal striving in state: Minister Indrakaran Reddy

Forest, Environment, Endowment and Housing Minister Allola Indrakaran Reddy said the government was committed to the growth of tribals in the state. "The government is of great importance to create small and medium scale industries to provide livelihood to ethnic tribals," the minister said after officially launching a soap making unit at Nirmal on Monday.

Indrakaran Reddy said that the establishment of industries would benefit the tribals and the government aimed at providing livelihood to ST women following the action plan. Telangana State Tribal Cooperative Corporation (TSGCC) is working hard to achieve financial empowerment of tribals, he said. He said efforts were being taken to encourage and maintain the tribals to set up processing units along with the collection of small forest products by the corporation. Also, efforts have been taken to generate income for the tribals by marketing products".

The Minister praised the GCC for playing a key role in making tribals entrepreneurs. The corporation has made its own impression on the manufacture of honey, natural soaps, shampoos and hand sanitizers. Then the honey processing unit of the corporation was examined and learned about its performance. Tribal Welfare Commissioner Dr Christina Zed Chongtu, Integrated Tribal Development Corporation (ITDA) -Utnur Bhavesh Mishra, Additional Collector Hemnath Borkhade, District Revenue Officer In charge Rathod Ramesh, Municipal Chairperson Gandrat Ishwar, former DCCB Chairman Ramkishan Prabhu have many powers.
