Patna: Modi government is going to implement 'one country one ration card' in the country soon, Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan gave information in this regard on Monday. Paswan said that under this scheme, consumers will be able to use the same ration card anywhere in the country. He said that we will implement the scheme across the country from June 1.

It is noteworthy that in 2019, the 'One Nation, One Ration Card' scheme was implemented in 4 states, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Gujarat, Maharashtra. Card portability facility was made available under this scheme. Inaugurating this, Union Minister Paswan said that after the success of the scheme in these states, it will be implemented across the country. It is being told that this step has been taken only after the scheme has been successful in these 4 states.

Under this scheme, the ration cardholder of any state of the country will be able to buy rice and wheat at cheaper prices from ration shops in any other state.
