Rajinikanth, after making controversial remarks on Periyar, says, 'I will not apologize...'

CHENNAI: Activists of Thanathai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam are protesting outside the house of South's superhero Rajinikanth over the alleged remarks made on EV Ramasamy Periyar. On the comment made on Periyar, the actor has said, "I did not say these things myself, they have been published in the media as well, I can show them. I will not apologize for this."

It is noteworthy that earlier members of Dravidar Viduthalai Kazhagam had lodged a complaint against Rajinikanth. He is accused of allegedly making controversial remarks against Periyar. In Kazhagam's complaint, a case was filed against Rajinikanth under Section 153 (A) of the IPC.

Rajinikanth, who has entered the world of politics by acting, recently attacked Tamil Nadu's main opposition party DMK and said that Rajni had called former CM M Karunanidhi and Periyar EV Ramasamy, the father of the Dravidian movement and commented disputedly. Rajinikanth said that Periyar was a staunch critic of Hindu gods, but no one criticized Periyar at that time.
